Susan Woskie, is the director of the Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Woskie has worked in Thailand since 2006, where she opened the Center for Work, Environment, Nutrition and Development (CWEND) in collaboration with Mahidol University. In 2015, CWEND received funding from the NIH Fogarty International Center as one of seven worldwide Global Environmental and Occupational Health Hubs. The CWEND GeoHealth Hub conducts research and training to improve agricultural health in Southeast Asia, and also works in healthcare and other informal work sectors. In 2017, Dr Woskie received an honorary doctoral degree in occupational health & safety from Mahidol University in acknowledgement of her research and training efforts in Thailand.
